Abstract

The article examines the argumentative potential of metaphorical word combinations containing the lex-eme “light”, that help exercise a hidden manipulative influence on political audience. The raised issues seem to be particu-larly urgent if one takes into account that the material of the study includes newspaper articles of the American media de-voted to the topic of the complication of the US-RF relations, published over the period from 2014 to 2018.
