Abstract

El propósito de esta tesis es analizar la influencia del dispositivo disciplinario de la institución psiquiátrica, en las formas en que las mujeres internas configuran performantivamente su subjetividad, en el Hospital de la Salud Mental de Tijuana (HSLM). El objetivo central es conocer las experiencias de las mujeres internas y sus formas de subjetividad que se construyen por medio del control y disciplina, así como las diversas resistencias que las mujeres elaboran para subvertir a ese control y disciplina. El posicionamiento teórico tiene dos bases: el feminismo postestructural de Judith Butler y el pos-estructuralismo de Michel Foucault. Se toman como categorías centrales: la disciplina y la subjetividad desde los planteamientos teóricos de Foucault, la performantividad desde las propuestas de Judith Butler y las resistencias desde las concepciones de Michel De Certeau. La metodología que guía la investigación es de carácter cualitativo, pensada bajo un paradigma feminista y una perspectiva de género. Esta consistió en la realización de diez entrevistas semi-estructuradas y un trabajo de observación etnográfica. El análisis es un nexo entre estas visiones epistemológicas y la praxis. Por consiguiente, los resultados muestran nociones acerca de cómo las internas resignifican los sentidos de ser mujer en un contexto psiquiátrico, además nos dan algunos elementos de las condiciones de vulnerabilidad y precariedad en las que se encuentran las mujeres en las instituciones psiquiátricas, y arrojan un panorama de las formas de adaptación y resistencia que elaboran las mujeres en estos espacios/contextos.
