Modelling of the near-surface wind speed

Abstract

Das Wissen über die oberflächennahe Windgeschwindigkeit und deren Vorhersage ist von größtem Interesse für eine Vielzahl von Anwendungen, einschließlich der Windenergie. Für die vorliegende Arbeit wurden folgende Aspekte untersucht: i) die Variabilität des Windes in der Vergangenheit über Nordwest-Europa und im Speziellen über der Nordsee sowie die Beziehung der Variabilität zu großskaligen Zirkulationsmustern, wofür sowohl Reanalyse- als auch Messdaten verwendet wurden, ii) die möglichen Änderungen des oberflächennahen Windklimas im gesamten europäischen und nordatlantischen Raum in der Zukunft durch die Analyse der Ergebnisse von 16 globalen Klimamodellen, iii) die verbesserte Qualität der Windvorhersage, welche durch eine Weiterentwicklung des Mellor-Yamada-Janjic-Schemas im mesoskaligen Weather Research and Forecasting Model zur Parametrisierung der marinen unteren atmosphärischen Grenzschicht erreicht wird.
