Abstract

Der Berg-Ahorn stammt aus der Familie der Ahorngewächse (Aceraceae), die rund 200 weitere Vertreter der Gattung Acer umfasst. Er ist in Deutschland heute weit verbreitet, obwohl die Art ursprünglich z. B. im niedersächsischen Tiefland, in Schleswig-Holstein und im Oberrheingraben nicht heimisch war. Aufgrund vielfacher Anpflanzungen verwilderte der Berg-Ahorn dann jedoch zunehmend. In Reinbeständen kommt bzw. kam die Art allerdings überall nur selten vor.
