Tissue engineering i regeneracija parodonta

Abstract

Tissue engineering je suvremena grana primjenjenog biomedicinskog istraživanja usmjerena razvijanju postupaka i biomaterijala za proizvodnju novih tkiva kako bi se zamijenila destruirana tkiva. Tissue engineering se oslanja na postulate nanotehnologije, razvojne i stanične biologije te znanosti o biomaterijalima. Nedavna otkrića u biologiji faktora rasta omogućila su uspješni laboratorijski inženjering hrskavice, kosti i pripadajućih tkiva. Parodont se stoga nametnuo kao idealni kandidat za takve postupke. Preliminarne studije su pokazale da se stanice parodontnog ligamenta i koštane stanice uspješno mogu transplantirati u područje parodonta bez neželjenih imunoloških ili upalnih odgovora.
