Produção de mudas de pimentão em substratos à base de vermicomposto

Abstract

O experimento foi conduzido na Empresa de Pesquisa Agropecuária de Minas Gerais - EPAMIG Zona da Mata, Viçosa, MG, no período de 02/2008 a 03/2008 com o objetivo de avaliar a utilização do vermicomposto (húmus de minhoca), originado de esterco bovino, puro ou em mistura com a vermiculita, na produção de mudas de pimentão. O delineamento utilizado foi inteiramente casualizado com quatro repetições e oito tratamentos, sendo quatro tipos de substratos: Plantamax®; 100 % de vermicomposto; 75 % de vermicomposto + 25 % de vermiculita; 50 % de vermicomposto + 50 % de vermiculita e dois híbridos de pimentão Etna F1 e Tiberius F1. A semeadura foi feita em bandejas de poliestireno expandido com 128 células. Diariamente analisou-se o número de plântulas emergidas, para a determinação do índice de velocidade de emergência e germinação. Aos 37 dias após a semeadura avaliou-se a altura das plantas, diâmetro do coleto, índice SPAD, comprimento e largura das folhas e massa fresca e seca das plantas. No geral, o substrato Plantmax® produziu mudas mais vigorosas. Porém, os substratos com 100 % de vermicomposto e 75 % de vermicomposto + 25 % de vermiculita comparado com o substrato comercial produziram mudas com os mesmos valores de índice SPAD e diâmetro de colo para os dois híbridos e valores correspondentes de massa fresca e seca para o híbrido Tiberius. O vermicomposto originado de esterco bovino pode ser um componente fundamental na mistura de substratos para a produção de mudas. Palavras-chave: Capsicum annuum. Vermicomposto. Vermiculita.
