Abstract

Based on the review of the experience generated by some socio-environmental conflicts of an urban nature carried out by indigenous peoples settled in what is now Mexico City (capital of Mexico), spatial justice is used as a theoretical-conceptual proposal that enables a reading and interpretation of the injustices historically faced by these communities that have lost their language, and a large part of their lands and territory and that resist neoliberal and neostatist capitalist urbanization. In the search for recognition of their social and political rights, the struggle for their political, cultural and territorial autonomy has emerged, with increasing force, being this context in which the right of peoples to a clean environment in terms of environmental justice, can turn and give way to the ecological justice from the original peoples. Finally, the claims, actions and projects tending to the construction of autonomy for the original peoples, places us once again in front of the question of a universal social justice that requires discussing the particular ways of facing and conceiving particular spatial injustices.
