Abstract

Las miasis se asocian generalmente a falta de higiene, específicamente en pacientes que se encuentran imposibilitados de moverse. Los genitales descubiertos pueden atraer moscas. Distintas especies han sido descriptas parasitando los genitales. Ante un caso clínico de localización vaginal, se realizó la identificación de dos larvas en el pus del absceso. Las larvas se identificaron como de Musca domestica y el único microorganismo asilado fue Corynebacterium pyogenes hominis. Es necesario alertar acerca de la posibilidad de miasis en niños de corta edad y en pacientes geriátricos incontinentes.

Myiasis are generally associated with a lack of hygiene, specifically in patients uncapable to move. The uncovered genitals may atract flies. Different species have been described parasiting genitats. In a clinical case of vaginal localization, the identification of two larvas in the abscess pus was carried oul. The larvas were identified as Musca domestica and the unique isolated microorganism was Corynebacterium pyogenes hominis. It is necesanry to be aware the possibility of myiasis in small childrenitildtcu and in geriatric incontinent patients.
