Tratamiento de los residuos sólidos de la industria del tabaco

Abstract

El presente trabajo establece un sistema de tratamiento para la transformación de la materia orgánica de los residuos de la industria del tabaco; evaluando la calidad del producto obtenido para su posterior aplicación en suelos, ya sea como abono orgánico o para ser utilizado como alimento de lombrices (Eisenia foetida). Se desarrollaron experiencias en escala laboratorio y piloto, evaluando distintas mezclas de polvo de tabaco con residuos disponibles en la zona. Se proyectó la mejor mezcla a escala industrial, habiéndose tratado aeróbicamente todos los residuos de la campaña 97/98. Las mezclas que se experimentaron fueron de polvo do tabaco con residuos sólidos urbanos, estiércol vacuno, estiércol de aves, lodos cloacales y residuos vegetales. Las mezclas de estiércol vacuno y de residuos domiciliarios con polvo de tabaco presentan una remoción de sólidos volátiles del orden del 30% p/p y una concentración media de 3,74 de Nitrógeno, 0,75% de Fósforo y 7,4% de Potasio.
