Abstract

In recent years, it does not seem far-fetched to state that consumption is neither created nor destroyed, only transformed, as if it were the law of conservation of energy. New technologies and social networks are gradually gaining ground in society and particularly in the catering sector. The growth that online review platforms have experienced seems to have overshadowed the way of disseminating recommendations in the traditional way that until then was carried out. Consumer trends are a changing reality, the current consumer is characterized by being a user who contrasts information on the Internet in order to certify that the consumption decision is correct. In this final degree project, the importance of traditional word of mouth will be analyzed, as well as electronic word of mouth in the restaurant sector in the Canary Islands.
