Expresión de COX-2 en entamoeba histolytica durante la interacción trofozoíto-fibronectina

Abstract

Recientemente se ha demostrado que Entamoeba histolytica sintetiza el RNAm y la proteína tipo COX-2 durante la formación de abscesos hepáticos en hámster. También se ha reportado que la síntesis de la PGE2 en los trofozoítos actúa como un importante factor de virulencia que modula la respuesta inmune del huésped. Otro factor de virulencia amibiano es la adhesión a proteínas de la matriz extracelular mediada por proteínas de la membrana de trofozoíto, una de ellas es una molécula de 140 kDa con habilidad de unirse a fibronectina, y con similitud a las B1 integrinas,esta molécula es capaz de activar vías de señalización similares a las inducida por FN a través de integrinas en células de mamíferos

Recently it has been demonstrated that Entamoeba histolytica synthesizes mRNA and COX-2 like protein during the production of liver abscesses in hamsters. Also, PGE2 synthesis in the trophozoites has been reported as an important virulence factor that modulates the host immune response, particularly the inflammation process. Another important virulence factor is amebic adherence to extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins through cell surface molecules
