Vaskularna flora Nacionalnog parka Mljet

Abstract

Prvi podaci o flori južnodalmatinskog otoka Mljeta potječu iz 1826. godine. Tijekom sljedećih 160 godina novi nalazi bili su rezultat samo povremenih posjeta stranih i hrvatskih botaničara otoku. Prvim sustavnim istraživanjem flore Mljeta u 1980.-ima zabilježeno je 604 biljnih svojti. U sklopu našeg recentnog istraživanja, proučena je i opsežna povijesna literatura o flori Mljeta, a broj svojti na otoku popeo se na 807. Unutar Nacionalnog parka, koji zauzima trećinu otoka, zabilježeno je tek 52 % navedenih svojti. Mali broj svojti rezultat je nedovoljno istražene flore u ovom dijelu otoka, kao i nepostojanja određenih staništa sa specifičnim flornim sastavom, kao što su npr. pješčane plaže i veća vodena tijela. Kako bi se bolje upoznala flora NP Mljet, provedeno je opsežno terensko istraživanje u razdoblju od 2009. do 2011. Zabilježeno je više od 200 novih vrsta za Park, a među njima i novih vrsta za otok. Zabilježene su Serapias x todaroi Tineo kao nova, te Muscari armeniacum Leichtlin ex Baker kao zanemarena svojta hrvatske flore. Iznenađujuće visoki diverzitet flore ograničen je na svega 10 % nešumskih površina Parka. Stoga bi plan upravljanja Parkom morao prepoznati otvorena staništa (travnjake, obradive površine, vinograde, voćnjake i protupožarne prosjeke) kao centre biljne raznolikosti Parka. Budući da se radi o staništima koje održava čovjek, u zaštiti flornog bogatstva potrebno je uspostaviti blisku suradnju uprave Parka i lokalnog stanovništva.
