Marital satisfaction is one of the key indicators of a couple's psychological well-being and the stability of family relationships. The study analyzed the role of communication in ensuring harmony within couples and its direct impact on relationship satisfaction. The research involved 20 married couples with varying marriage durations (from 1 to 21 years). The methods used included the Marital Satisfaction Scale (Stolin, Romanova, Butenko), the "Family Communication" method (Aleshina, Gozman, Dubovskaya), and Hall's Emotional Intelligence Test. The results indicated that the ability to effectively communicate, including active listening, empathy, and conflict resolution, significantly influences the quality of marital relationships. A strong correlation was found between emotional intelligence and the level of marital satisfaction, highlighting that partners with higher emotional intelligence tend to have more harmonious and stable relationships. Furthermore, the study revealed that the longer the marriage duration, the better the communication and mutual understanding between partners. The findings emphasize the importance of emotional openness and mutual support in fostering marital satisfaction. The results can be applied in the development of psychological counseling programs aimed at improving communication skills within couples.
