Abstract

Se mencionan especialmente directrices de la Organización Mundial de la Salud respecto el tema This paper derives from an acoustic study of the district of San Isidro in Lima (Perú) with the objective to quantify the degree of noise pollution. Initially it explains the deep problem of noise pollution in urban environments, its effects, the sources that generate it and how we can study and control it. Doing a subjective study on the degree of noise nuisance perceived, based on surveys, we identify the noise as a problem which affects the population in San Isidro, in particular road traffic noise. Realising maps of noise with a commercial software (Predictor-LimA) and other free (opeNoise), both are compared with experimental results and undergo validation methods. Based in results, the differences between European big cities and Lima are detected and a list with improvements to reduce noise is presented. The invariability in level of sound along the day period is demonstrated. Guidelines by World Health Organisation about the topic are present along the document.
