Case study of Lithuanian strategic company’s “Mažeikiųnafta” privatization

Abstract

The paper aims at presenting a case study, in which foreign direct investment does not provided expected in-novative spillovers in technology, management or marketing fields. Efficiency of state policy in that particular case has been questioned; actual stimuli of a foreign investor discussed. it is assumed that analysis of that particular case study of globalization process of Lithuanian strategic oil refinery would provide us with additional evidences leading to formulation of new insights into driving forces of foreign direct investment, especially channeling through privatization. Lietuvos ūkio strateginės įmonės „Mažeikių nafta“ privatizavimo atvejis Santrauka Straipsnio tikslas – pristatyti konkretų atvejį, kai tiesioginės užsienio investicijos neatlieka savo kaip technologijų atnaujintojo ar pažangios vadybinės ir rinkodaros patirties laidininko vaidmens. Straipsnyje keliamas klausimas – kiek teisinga buvo valstybės politika šiuo konkrečiu atveju skatinant užsienio investicijas, kokie tikrieji investuotojo motyvai. Manome, kad šios konkrečios Lietuvos strateginės įmonės globalizavimosi proceso analizė leis ietuvos ūkio strateginės įmonės „Mažeikių nafta“ privatizavimo atvejisgiliau pažvelgti į tiesiogines užsienio investicijas lemiančius veiksnius, tokiu būdu įneš gana svarų indėlį formuluojant naujas teorines įžvalgas šia moksline tema. Reikšminiai žodžiai: tiesioginės užsienio investicijos, privatizavimas, „Mažeikių nafta“, Lietuva.
