Tipología de movimiento de masas desarrollados en el territorio de Moa, Cuba

Abstract

El artículo tiene como objetivo principal establecer una clasificación de los distintos tipos de movimientos de masas en taludes y laderas desarrollados en el territorio de Moa. La clasificación tipológica se realizó sobre la base de la documentación de los movimientos reportados en el área de estudio, y de la caracterización de los elementos geométricos, estructurales y composicionales del tipo de material en el cual se han desarrollado, teniendo en cuenta las clasificaciones más aceptadas a nivel internacional. Como resultados se da una clasificación y descripción de los movimientos de masas agrupando los mecanismos de los deslizamientos en tres grupos principales: mecanismos relacionados con caída libre de la roca (desprendimientos y vuelcos), mecanismos de deslizamientos a través de una superficie de fallo definida (deslizamientos traslacionales, rotacionales, en forma de cuña y combinados) y mecanismos de movimientos de masas de manera desorganizada (solifluxión, coladas de tierra y corrientes de derrubios).
