Abstract

En las personas mayores, la fractura de cuello de fémur es una de las principales causas de mortalidad y deterioro funcional La causa principal son las caídas. La edad, ciertos medicamentos (neurolépticos, antidepresivos, hipnosedantes, analgésicos opiáceos, otros depresores de SNC y hipotensores), la demencia y los trastornos del equilibrio son los principales factores de riesgo. El impacto en términos de salud pública puede ser importante.

En la gent gran, la fractura de coll de fèmur és una de les principals causes de mortalitat i deteriorament funcional La causa principal en són les caigudes. L’edat, certs medicaments (neurolèptics, antidepressius, hipnosedants, analgèsics opiacis, altres depressors d’SNC i hipotensors), la demència i els trastorns de l’equilibri són els principals factors de risc. L’impacte en termes de salut pública pot ser important.

In the elderly, the fracture of the femoral neck is one of the main causes of mortality and functional deterioration. The main cause are falls. Age, certain medications (neuroleptics, antidepressants, hypnosis, opioid analgesics, other CNS depressants and hypotension), dementia and balance disorders are the main risk factors. The impact in terms of public health can be important.
