Abstract

В данной статье приводится анализ метафор со сферой-источником "NATURE", которые были выявлены в статьях модных журналов Vogue, Harper's Bazaar и Elle в 2017 году. Природа является самым востребованным источником метафорической экспансии при описании моды в англоязычной прессе. Метафоризация со сферойисточником "природа" выявлена в 43% случаев от общего количества выявленных метафор. Рассматриваемая сфера-источник представлена тремя группами метафор. Первая группа - образы, восходящие к миру животных (сфера-источник "ANIMALS"). Особенно часто востребованы метафоры, сравнивающие цвет одежды с цветом шерсти или кожи животных. Вторая группа метафор относится к образам из мира растений (сфера-источник "FLORA"). Данная сфера-источник также активно используется для образования колоративов в дискурсе моды. Третья группа метафор - примеры вторичной номинации, относящиеся в прямом значении к объектам неживой природы ("INANIMATE NATURE"). Образы данной семантической сферы особенно востребованы при описании модных трендов, описываемых через метафоры водной стихии или смены времен года. В ходе исследования было выявлено, что в англоязычном дискурсе моды большинство метафор из сферы-источника "NATURE" актуализируются при концептуализации цвета или оттенков одежды. В меньшей степени природоморфные метафоры востребованы при описании стиля и размера одежды.

The paper deals with metaphors from source domain NATURE in the articles of fashion magazines Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Elle‖ published in 2017. It is argued that nature is the most frequent source domain used for metaphorical conceptualization of fashion in English language discourse. 43 per cent of metaphors included into the analysis derive from the source domain of NATURE. Nature metaphors are divided into three groups according to the semantic spheres. The first group consists of images from the source domain ANIMALS. Animalistic metaphors are often used to designate colours of clothes depicted in the images of animals' skin or hair. The second group comprises metaphorical images from source domain FLORA. This cognitive semantic sphere is also reflected in coloratives used in the English fashion discourse. The metaphors of the third group make readers view fashion phenomena as objects of inanimate nature. The most frequent images of the source domain INANIMATE NATURE describe fashion trends as water currents and a change of seasons. It is revealed that the majority of metaphors derived from the source domain NATURE are actualized for conceptualization of colours or tints of clothes in the English fashion discourse. As far as the conceptualization of style and size of clothes is concerned metaphors of nature occur to a less extent.
