Abstract

The article is devoted to semantic classification of metaphors and comparisons in semantic field “Light” in Russian language. The collations can be based on comparison of sources of light themselves and their light. In artistic style the sources of light are compared with other objects according to their shape, colour, brilliance, function, the character of movement, transparence, the intensity of glow, making different motivation rows. The main subjects of comparison are the moon, the sun, the star, sunrise colors, sunset glow, a candle, a lamp, a street lamp, a headlight and others. The auxiliary subject of comparison are head dresses, fetuses, bread grains, round objects, vessels, musical instruments, precious stones and metals, animals and plants, parts of body and face, coins, tools, mechanisms and kinds of transport, liquids and precipitation, intra field interactions are also watched. Moreover, comparison can be made in many characteristics at the same time.
