La antropofagia de Serafim Ponte Grande

Abstract

Resumen: Las vanguardias constituyeron un fenómeno generalizado tanto en Europa occidental y oriental como en Estados Unidos y Latinoamérica. Surgieron como respuesta lógica al agotamiento del Modernismo y al desgaste del Simbolismo, presentándose como una renovación desretorizante, prosaica, humorística, nacionalista, sencillista, etc. Del mismo modo que el resto de América Latina, Brasil acompañó los cambios y comenzó -alrededor de las dos primeras décadas del siglo XX-a combatir las producciones rígidas tradicionales, a disfrutar con la novedad irreverente y a crear a partir de la "brasilidad". Todos estos elementos se dieron encuentro en un evento artístico organizado por pintores y poetas durante la semana del 13 al17 de febrero de 1922 que recibió el nombre de "Semana de Arte Moderno". Uno de los integrantes fue Oswald de Andrade, constituyéndose en el gran pensador del fenómeno modernista con la creación de los manifiestos Pau-Brasil y Antropófago. Con la publicación en 1934 de la novela-invención Serafim Ponte Grande, Oswald de Andrade puso en juego todos los conceptos de sus postulados teóricos: alcanzó la innovación en la sintagmática de la narrativa, en la arquitectura general de la obra y en la macroestructura. Compuso la obra con trozos de varios libros posibles valiéndose de diferentes tipos de discurso. Empleó un discurso irreverente, lúdico, satírico y paródico (explotando la literatura modernista finisecular, entre otros aspectos.
