microRNAs como biomarcadores en Artritis Reumatoide

Abstract

La artritis reumatoide (AR) es una enfermedad con escasos biomarcadores en la práctica clínica. Estos biomarcadores presentan limitaciones como su baja sensibilidad o especificidad, que pueden impedir el correcto manejo de la enfermedad, haciéndose necesaria la incorporación de nuevos biomarcadores. Los microRNAs son cadenas cortas de nucleótidos cuya función es la regulación postranscripcional de genes y que podrían ser útiles en los distintos aspectos de la práctica clínica, dada su expresión variable y medible en los distintos escenarios de la enfermedad. Tras una revisión sistemática de la literatura reciente, este trabajo reúne los distintos microRNAs que podrían ser empleados como biomarcadores en el manejo de la AR. El resultado final es un listado y una tabla con todos los microRNAs y sus aspectos más característicos, que facilitará el uso de los mismos en el manejo de la AR.
