Abstract

This paper studies translation adaptation of political metaphors based on the material of the Russian translation of the Report to the 20th CPC National Congress (hereinafter referred to as “the Report”). The aim of the study is to demonstrate the importance of translation adaptation while translating political metaphors, as well as to reveal the translation strategy of translating political metaphors into Russian and the communicative intentions of the Chinese government realized through it.
