Abstract

El estudio se centró en investigar la influencia del estrés y la contaminación ambiental en la patología respiratoria porcina, evaluando tratamientos alternativos en una explotación porcina con dos naves: una experimental con reducción de amoniaco y otra control. Contrario a la hipótesis inicial, la nave experimental mostró una mayor presencia de microorganismos, tanto patógenos como ambientales, posiblemente debido a efectos secundarios del tratamiento o contaminación cruzada. La identificación de microorganismos mediante el sistema VITEK reveló algunas dificultades técnicas con las muestras. No se encontraron diferencias significativas en la presencia de patógenos específicos entre las naves. Los niveles de cortisol y NGAL fueron inesperadamente más altos en la nave experimental, mientras que los niveles de cromogranina A fueron menores, contradiciendo la expectativa de reducción de estrés. Se destacaron limitaciones en la detección de muestras para los marcadores de estrés. Los análisis estadísticos no confirmaron diferencias significativas en los niveles de estrés entre las poblaciones estudiadas. Se sugiere profundizar en el análisis de las condiciones ambientales y factores adicionales que puedan influir en los resultados. El estudio subraya la complejidad del manejo del estrés y la microbiota en la industria porcina, proponiendo mejorar las estrategias de manejo y bienestar animal en futuras investigaciones para optimizar la salud y rendimiento de los animales en explotaciones porcinas.
