`Hâkimiyet-i Milliye` newspaper has been established in order to be able to hear the ideas of the national struggle for internal and external public opinion. The most important feature of this journal is that it is dictated by the cadre who established the republic and the writings to be issued. The newspaper, which started its publication life in the name of `Hâkimiyet-i Milliye`, was named `Ulus` on November 28, 1934. Since its publication date, it has become its semi-official publication body, reflecting the ideological conception of CHP.The Adalet Party, the heir to the Demokrat Party, came to power alone in the 1965 elections and ruled the country for four years. During this period, many political events take place in domestic and foreign politics, and in the 1969 General Elections, they sit on the ruling seat alone again.In this study, the historical process of the Ulus Newspaper, the image of the CHP of the journal and the election results of 1969 General Elections from the perspective of Ulus Newspaper were examined.

Millî mücadelenin fikirlerini iç ve dış kamuoyuna duyurabilmek maksadıyla `Hâkimiyet-i Milliye` gazetesi kurulmuştur. Bu gazetenin en önemli özelliği, Cumhuriyeti kuran kadro tarafından yönetilmesi ve çıkacak olan yazıların dikte edilmesidir. `Hâkimiyet-i Milliye` adıyla yayın hayatına başlayan gazete, 28 Kasım 1934 yılında `Ulus` adını almıştır. Yayınlanmaya başladığı tarihten itibaren CHP'nin ideolojik anlayışını yansıtması hasebiyle onun yarı resmî yayın organı hâline gelmiştir.Demokrat Parti'nin mirasçısı olan Adalet Partisi, 1965 seçimlerinde tek başına iktidara gelerek dört yıllık süre ile ülkeyi yönetmiştir. Bu süre zarfında iç ve dış politikada birçok siyasî olaylar yaşanmış ve 1969 Genel Seçimlerinde tekrar tek başına iktidar koltuğuna oturmuştur. Bu çalışmada Ulus gazetesinin tarihî süreci, gazetenin CHP imajı ve Ulus gazetesi perspektifinden 1969 Genel Seçimleri ile seçim sonuçları incelenmiştir.
