Abstract

En este trabajo realizaremos un estudio sobre la autonomía que mantienen las personas mayores en las residencias, y la implicación de las familias en el mantenimiento y cuidado de las personas institucionalizadas. Esta valoración formará parte de un programa cuyo objetivo es promocionar dicha autonomía con la ayuda y colaboración de familiares e institución. Actualmente, existen programas y proyectos con este fin, pero se enfocará de tal manera que, sean los propios residentes los que manifiesten sus necesidades, gustos, aficiones y lo que ellos consideren necesario para sentirse implicados en el funcionamiento de esa residencia, no simplemente usuarios. ¿Qué factores contribuyen a que la autonomía de las personas se mantenga durante más tiempo? ¿Qué papel juega la familia en este mantenimiento?.
