ANÁLISIS SOCIOLÓGICO SOBRE LA PERCEPCIÓN DE FELICIDAD DE LOS TURISTAS QUE VISITAN LAS ISLAS GALÁPAGOS

Abstract

El turismo ha experimentado un crecimiento exponencial en las últimas décadas, consolidándose como uno de los sectores económicos más importantes y de más rápido crecimiento a nivel global. Sin embargo, su impacto va más allá de lo económico, influyendo significativamente en el bienestar y la felicidad de los visitantes. Las Islas Galápagos, declaradas Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 1978, emergen como un destino único que ofrece una oportunidad excepcional para explorar la intersección entre el turismo, la conservación ambiental y la felicidad humana. Este archipiélago, situado a aproximadamente 1,000 kilómetros de la costa ecuatoriana, no solo es un laboratorio viviente para la investigación científica, sino también un destino turístico de renombre que atrae a visitantes de todo el mundo fascinados por su biodiversidad y riqueza natural. La presente investigación se centra en examinar la relación entre la experiencia turística en las Islas Galápagos y la felicidad de los visitantes, justificándose por diversas razones que subrayan su relevancia en el contexto del turismo y el bienestar humano. En primer lugar, existe una creciente conciencia global sobre la importancia del bienestar subjetivo y la felicidad como indicadores del progreso social, más allá de las métricas económicas tradicionales. El estudio de la felicidad en el contexto turístico de las Galápagos permite comprender cómo las experiencias de viaje, especialmente aquellas que involucran una conexión profunda con la naturaleza, pueden contribuir al bienestar general de los individuos.
