In this paper the authors explore the options open to Irish SMEs vis a vis flexible working arrangements. The arguments for and against are discussed, and some attention is paid to employer attitudes to this type of arrangement. A literature review is included on organisational influences, decision making in organisations and what influences both the individual and the organisation in making the choice.
