Parametros geneticos para as caracteristicas primeira e segunda data do parto e primeiro intervalo de partos na raca nelore

Abstract

Objetivou-se estimar os componentes de (co)variância, herdabilidade e correlações genéticas de características reprodutivas de fêmeas, criadas em diferentes rebanhos, participantes do Programa de Melhoramento Genético da Raça Nelore. As características estudadas foram: primeira data do parto (PDP), segunda data do parto (SDP) e primeiro intervalo de partos (PIP). Análises estatísticas foram realizadas por meio do programa SAS (Statistical Analysis System) e componentes de (co)variância pelo método de máxima verossimilhança restrita, utilizando o software MTDFREML. As médias observadas foram: 46,60 dias, 53,63 dias e 13,66 meses, respectivamente, para PDP, SDP e PIP. Estimativas de herdabilidade da PDP, SDP e PIP foram, respectivamente,: 0,35; 0,16 e 0,09. Estimativas de correlações genéticas entre PDP x SDP, PDP x PIP e SDP x PIP foram, respectivamente,: 0,28; -0,60 e 0,60. Foi concluído que a PDP é uma importante característica reprodutiva que deveria ser incluída como critério de seleção. A correlação genética estimada entre PDP e SDP sugere que a seleção para PDP mais precoce afetaria favoravelmente a SDP e prolongaria o PIP, embora esta correlação possa refletir um viés resultante do uso de uma estação de monta fixa.
