Ansiedad matemática

Abstract

Math anxiety is a phenomenon that affects a large number of individuals and has recently become the subject of study. This aversion to mathematics appears at an early age and causes blockage, frustration, fear, and other emotional symptoms in those who suffer from it. This occurs due to various factors, both external and internal. Math anxiety reveals problems in working memory, since when anxiety occurs, working memory resources are not properly developed. It is also influenced by environmental factors, anxiety that teachers may transmit, anxiety that parents may transmit, a lack of confidence in certain situations, etc. To try to prevent this anxiety or improve the levels at which it manifests, different authors have developed numerous theories and a large number of assessment and intervention methods.
