Abstract

Postoji više uročnih čimbenika stresa kod nastavnika. Iako stres podrazumijeva međudjelovanje između pojedinca i njegove okoline, uzročne čimbenike stresa kod nastavnika možemo podijeliti na tri široka područja: čimbenici specifični za nastavničko zvanje, kognitivni čimbenici koji utječu na individualnu ranjivost nastavnika te sustavni čimbenici koji djeluju na institucionalnoj i političkoj razini. Kao glavni stresori nastavničkog stresa navode se prevelik obujam posla te dugo radno vrijeme, ometajuća ponašanja učenika, što je često povezano s velikim razredima, pritisak školskih inspekcija, loše rukovodstvo i mobing te nemogućnost napredovanja. Neki od najčešćih problema zbog kojih nastavnici traže pomoć su stres, tjeskoba i depresija, sukobi s rukovodstvom ili kolegama, pritisak obujma posla i prekomjernih promjena, gubitak samouvjerenosti i tjeskoba vezana uz obavljanje poslova te bračni i obiteljski problemi. Nedostatno razvijene strategije suočavanja sa stresom znatno utječu na razvijanje simptoma izgaranja na poslu, odnosno na gubitak idealizma i entuzijazma na poslu. Važnost je prevencije na trima razinama: primarnoj, sekundarnoj i tercijarnoj. Cilj primarne prevencije je reduciranje incidencije novih slučajeva poremećaja. Sekundarnoj prevenciji je cilj rana identifikacija i tretman simptoma prije nego što se razviju u premećaj, a tercijarna prevencija uključuje intervencije radi prevencije povrata simptoma.
