"The project ""Blue Horizon: Empowering Youth for a Plastic-Free Black Sea"" aims to engage young people in addressing the pressing issue of single-use plastic pollution in the Black Sea region. By empowering youth workers and council members, the project seeks to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to actively participate in decision-making processes related to environmental policies. Through capacity-building activities, training sessions, and policy simulations, the project will enhance the capabilities of youth organizations to effectively address plastic pollution and promote sustainable practices. By fostering collaboration and raising awareness, the project aligns with the objectives of the EU Youth Strategy and contributes to the broader European agenda of promoting sustainability and digital innovation.Additionally, the project strategically aligns with the European Union's endeavours to address marine pollution, specifically focusing on single-use plastic waste, in the Black Sea region. Despite previous initiatives, the severity of the issue persists, with substantial amounts of plastic waste posing a significant threat to the ecosystem. Through innovative approaches such as an online platform for information exchange and advocacy for the adoption of the Blue Horizon: BLACKSEA Guide, the project aims to amplify existing efforts and advance environmental protection in the region. Furthermore, the project outcomes will be disseminated widely to ensure sustainability and extend its impact beyond the EU and the Black Sea region, contributing to global efforts towards environmental sustainability and sustainable development."
