Too often in today's society, our representation and stereotypes of physical and mental disabilities are still causing many students to underperform and to have a low self-esteem at school. Because we believe this should not be so, our project has been developed to fight prejudices and improve communication between disabled students and their peers. The project will first and foremost allow all students to share their experiences about handicap, to create new bonds at school and outside, to nurture empathy and to learn from one other. By placing students in different situations of communication and partnerships at both local and European levels, our project will give the opportunity to everyone involved to develop new strategies in order to facilitate the integration of disabled students. Thus, the project will not only have an influence on the participants but also on their families, who will be fully integrated in some activities, and at a different level on associations which provide help and assistance to disabled people.Certain tasks of the project like the workshops and different experiments will not only be used during the project as a basis to introduce the problem to the students in all our partner schools but will also be introduced later to students from other local schools and / or to interested organizations in order to raise awareness on the issue at a greater scale. All the results will be made available for all the schools in each participating country in the local, regional and national level.
