</script><< Background >>The DECODE project application was submitted with the aim of improving the quality and relevance of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) and responding to the need for comprehensive support for the cognitive development of young children. The goal was to prevent educational disadvantage and low levels of basic skills, especially among children from disadvantaged backgrounds. We addressed these needs by creating tailor-made OER (Open Educational Resources) resources (methodology, handbook, digital repository of activities, and online course) in four languages, which equipped teachers and families with innovative, proven methods. Synchronized cooperation between kindergartens and families was also key to ensuring the full development of all children's potential.<< Objectives >>The DECODE project aimed to achieve specific results that would transform preschool education and ensure long-term sustainability:Improving the quality of preschool education and reducing disadvantage: We have improved the quality and relevance of preschool education and created a functional model for preventing educational disadvantage and low levels of basic skills among all children.Supporting cognitive development: We comprehensively supported the cognitive development of preschoolers through interactive and engaging OER (digital repository of activities for children).Equipping professionals and families: We equipped teachers and parents with the necessary knowledge and skills through a multilingual online course and a handbook for conducting seminars.Sustainability and multiplication: Ensuring the long-term use of results (OER) and their multiplication into practice across Europe, thanks to a dissemination strategy that reached at least 2,000 key stakeholders.<< Implementation >>The DECODE project was divided into four main work packages (WP), within which the following key activities were carried out:WP2: Creation of innovative resources in four language versions (EN, CZ, SVK, SLO):We created a Methodology for Educators and a Handbook for Parents with activities for the cognitive development of preschool children. We created a digital repository of activities and an OER online platform for the free sharing of all results. We conducted a pilot test of these resources among 300 children in partner kindergartens.WP3: Competence building:We created a multilingual online course for KIGA teachers and trained 12 teachers. We organized 4 seminars and trained 60 parents with the aim of strengthening cooperation between schools and families.WP4: Dissemination and sustainability:We ran a promotional campaign and reached more than 2,000 stakeholders (website, social media, 6 newsletters). We organized a final multiplier conference (hybrid event for 150+ participants).WP1: Project management:We held 3 physical and a series of online partner meetings to manage, monitor, and ensure the quality of the project.<< Results >>The specific outputs of the DECODE project are freely available and verified educational resources (OER) and tools for improving skills.Key outputs:Methodology for educators: A comprehensive publication focused on cognitive development (perception, memory, communication) with practical ideas for group activities in preschool education.Parent handbook: Educational material for families to support children's cognitive development at home.Digital Activity Repository and OER Platform: An online platform providing access to all results and containing a total of 320 game activities for developing logic, memory, language and other skills, and key competencies.Multilingual Online Course: Educational program for preschool teachers to expand their knowledge of innovative methods.Other Results:Language Availability: All OERs are available in four languages.Verification in Practice: Successfully tested and verified by 300 preschool children, 12 educators, and 60 parents.Multiplication: Promotion with a reach of 2000+ stakeholders, a final dissemination conference, and long-term sustainability for use throughout Europe have been ensured.
