</script>The NSIS Project will enable HEIs in India (IN), Sri Lanka (LK) and Nepal (NP) to provide increased and specialist information support to Research, Business, and Innovation in the regions that they serve.This will be achieved by improving and increasing the level of competencies and skills of Library and Information Specialist staff in the HEI’s in the project from IN, LK, and NP. NSIS will enhance and build on the skills of staff in these universities, so as to strengthen their abilities to provide quality, relevant supports to business, researchers and local enterprise in the Regions.The project will develop a Library and Information Specialist (IS) staff development strategy focused on improving the standards, range, and quality of library performance in providing support to business, entrepreneurship, innovation and research in IN, LK and NP with particular focus on improving key transferable, lifelong learning and digital skills.The NSIS project aims to improve the relevance of higher-level skills provision to Society and to the economy in IN, LK and NP. The project will effectively expand Library & IS engagement with employers and business for the development of key transferable skills in the Regions that are critical for business, research and innovation. NSIS aims to increase participation in education, training and the labour market and to significantly expand skills supply to stakeholders in the research and business community.The project will increase the capacity of the IN, LK, and NP universities in the project to provide more focused, targeted Library and IS and Library engagement and training to business, entrepreneurship, and research.This will be achieved through the creation of the NSIS Modular Curriculum featuring a complete range of modern IS, Information Literacy & other key transferable skills training geared towards businesses and researchers in the Regions to enable them to meet priority skills needed for enterprise.
