The Western Balkans face significant socioeconomic challenges, including poverty, inequality, and environmental issues. Higher education institutions (HEIs) in the region are not fully equipped to address these challenges due to a lack of sustainability integration in governance, curricula, and practices. The UNIGreen project aims to address this by embedding sustainability principles into university managerial structures, administrative structures, and academic programs .The project will focus on enhancing institutional efficiency, training staff, and fostering cross-sector partnerships to drive sustainable development and create green employment opportunities, ultimately preparing students and communities to tackle sustainability challenges in the region.
