</script>"<< Background >>People worldwide are increasingly concerned about air and water pollution and the threat it poses to their health and welfare. The community members are insisting towards local authorities on action to bring it under control. The needs for education programs is greater now than ever before and, will inevitably be even greater in years to come. Present data of air and water quality, are mainly from stationary measuring stations for air pollution and from random measurements of water pollution made by responsible state authorities. Establishing of stationary measuring stations in every town are related with high financial reimbursements. It is clear that measurements are only the first step in tackling of local air and water pollution and it must be accompanied with adequate analysis, public awareness raising and concrete environment-friendly measures. Based on above described situation, project partners had come to conclusion that the potential which educational institutions could be used by establishing of multidisciplinary educational approach combining potential of educational institutions' human resources and local expertise from different type of socio-economical organizations within educational process.<< Objectives >>The project objectives were development, implementation and promotion of Activity-based educational concept for secondary school students in tackling of challenges from community interest in project partners’ regions. The project activities led to increasing of the capacity for transnational cooperation and synergies of all involved partner organisations. The project offered an interdisciplinary educational approach suitable for any topics from community interest, with high transferability potential which is suitable for implementation in any educational institution in European countriesThe project led to development and implementation of 4 Project Intellectual Outputs:- Handbook for Secondary school teachers - An online software platform for the Urban air and water pollution based on the performed measurements by the secondary schools students - A Document with recommendations for updating of local policies/strategies in addressing of the environmental challenges for three municipalities - A Document for transnational cooperation among different type of socio-economical organizations and educational institutions in addressing of environment-related issues in educational processes in project partners’regions << Implementation >>Project Management: coordination and communication activitiesLTTAs:•2 trainings for STEM teachers•2 long-term teaching/learning activities•A blended mobility event exchanging of best practices between students and teacher-mentorsExecutive/Operational Meetings:•Kick-off Meeting:management, administrative, financial and safety issues•Mid-term TPPs working meeting– evaluation, challenges, and prepared for long-term activities•Final TPPs working meeting: Evaluation, adoption of IOs, national dissemination and final reporting•Executive/working meeting of the TPT for Sharing/Promotional/Communicational activities: A joint communication strategy for networking and stakeholder engagement•2 Working sessions of the TPT for creation of the IOs/Results4 IOs were developed:•A handbook for implementing activity-based educational approaches to address pollution•Software for pollution data input, analysis, and visualization•Policy recommendations for 3 municipalities to improve environmental strategies and awareness•A strategic partnership document for long-term collaboration and innovationCommunication and Promotion Activities:•Public debates with stakeholders•3 Final Dissemination Events•A comprehensive communication plan<< Results >>4 Intellectuals Outputs were developed in 4 languages – English, Bulgarian, Greek and Macedonian as follow:•Handbook for secondary school teachers ""How to implement an Activity-based educational concept for tackling of the water and air pollution challenge in STEM-related secondary school subjects"" •System User Manual •Development of strategic Document with recommendation for improving of the local policies/strategies in tackling of water and air pollution challenges in municipalities of Pazardzhik - Bulgaria, Kochani – N.
