The background of the project is the STEAM promotion in English language.Goals of the project are:a) Pupils from both countries prepare themselves at the respective location for the handling of electronic components forthe construction of a solar airplane.b) Sustainability: the topic of flying offers countless starting points for sustainability (travel, CO2 footprint, alternativepropulsion systems...).c) Language: the entire project will be conducted in English. English is a foreign language in both countries and thereforea challenge for all participating pupils. Through the choice of products and the project character, the fun of learning alanguage is made tangible.d) peer to peer teaching to primary pupils: The solar airplanes are manufactured with primary pupils and given to them asa gift. You can never teach a student, what a student can teach a student!e) Student exchange offers insights into two countries full of contrasts.f) teaching European values is part of the long-term development strategy of both schools
