"The FuTourAlliance project is a bold initiative aimed at tackling critical skills shortages and workforce challenges in the European tourism sector. As tourism recovers post-pandemic, the industry faces significant labor shortages, skills mismatches, and the urgent need for digital and sustainable transformation. To remain competitive, tourism professionals must adapt to emerging trends such as artificial intelligence (AI), automation, data-driven tourism management, and sustainability.Building on past Blueprint initiatives, FuTourAlliance will develop a comprehensive Tourism Skills Strategy (""Destination Europe 2030""), aligning with EU priorities. It will modernize occupational profiles, ensuring that training programs meet current industry demands. The project will introduce AI-powered learning experiences, microcredentials, and work-based learning opportunities, equipping professionals with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving sector.Collaboration is at the heart of FuTourAlliance. The project brings together 20 partners across 13 European countries, including VET providers, universities, industry representatives, and policymakers. By strengthening industry-education partnerships and establishing a Skills & Training Intelligence Mechanism, it will provide real-time insights into labor market needs and foster innovative, skills-based solutions. We aim to provide upskilling opportunities to 1500 professionals across 11 implementing countries, while providing Work-based learning opportunities to 180 professionals at national level and 42 mobility opportunities abroad. Ultimately, FuTourAlliance aims to build a resilient, future-proof, and inclusive tourism workforce, ensuring that businesses and professionals can navigate new challenges and seize opportunities in an increasingly digital and sustainable industry."
