<< Background >>The FORWARD: Fashion, Crafts and Design for Women Empowerment project was a small-scale cooperation partnership for Adult Education lasting 15 months (April 2022 - June 2023). Its objective was the social inclusion of women from disadvantaged backgrounds by promoting a pathway in the textile, design and arts and crafts sectors for supporting women’s employment in the labour market. The partnership involved 4 organisations from 3 European countries: Flo Società Cooperativa Sociale (Flo Concept) from Florence (Italy) as project coordinator, FISM Formazione Firenze training agency accredited by the Region of Tuscany, TON - The Open Network for Community Development, from Iasi, Romania and D4C - Associação Design For Crafts, from Lisbon Portugal. The project aimed to improve the quality of learning opportunities available to women living in disadvantaged situations by generating a flexible educational offer focused on female trainees: thanks to innovative pathways implemented in the individual partner countries, it contributed to empower their competences, improve their entrepreneurship and their possible access to the labour market.<< Objectives >>The objectives of FORWARD were as follows:Inclusion and diversity: to promote social inclusion and support women with fewer opportunities, from a migrant background, disadvantaged situations, remote and rural areas;Design and experiment pathways of retraining, improving accessibility and increasing the uptake of adult education, in this case women in disadvantaged situations;Improving high quality learning opportunities in adult education, realising a flexible and women-centred learning offer, in order to provide them new opportunities for acquiring skills, for empowering their education, for facilitating their access to the labour market, in an individualised way, able to balance work and personal life.<< Implementation >>The FORWARD objectives were achieved through the following activities:the transversal activity of Project Management (A1) by Flo Concept:the transversal activity of Communication and Dissemination (A6) by D4C;the transversal activity of Monitoring and Evaluation (A7) by FISM Formazione;a 3-day transnational train-the-trainer training (20-21-22 July 2022), which was held online, coordinated by Flo Concept;an activity to define common guidelines for an innovative pathway in the fashion, design and crafts sector (A3), coordinated by TON;a pilot training course dedicated to the direct beneficiaries of the project which was carried out in the three partner countries (A4) under the overall co-ordination of Flo Concept;the modelling of a training course in the field of fashion, design and handicrafts (A5), coordinated by Flo Concept.Three final Multiplier Events were also realised, one for each country of the partnership.<< Results >>The intellectual results of FORWARD were as follows:a 3-day train-the-trainer training (20-21-22 July 2022), realised online with the coordination of Flo Concept in order to: (a) deepen the knowledge among partner organisations in terms of skills, experiences, working group; (b) share, elaborate, develop knowledge, skills and good practices for the design and implementation of training courses (A4), with a focus on innovation and competence assessment; (c) plan the implementation of training courses, with a focus on innovation elements and competence assessment; (d) create a draft content for the implementation of the Guidelines (A3); (e) plan the subsequent design phases of the innovative training courses (A4). Paper in English of 55 pp.;Model for an innovative pathway in Fashion, Design and Handicrafts. Paper in English of 59 pp.
