<< Background >>The world today is marked by a series of problems that affect all citizens, without exception, and which relate to issues such as health, poverty, hunger, gender, education, work, inequalities, the environment, etc. In order to create a global model capable of combating cross-cutting social problems, 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were created. As representatives of the future, young people are naturally at the forefront of this process of building a cohesive, fair and sustainable society. It is clear, therefore, that there is still a long way to go and that multiple efforts need to be made to encourage youth participation for the development of society. PROBLEMLow levels of youth participation in the various spheres of society.NEEDSa) Raise community awareness of existing social problems (in relation to the SDGs);b) Promote the involvement and active participation of citizens in responding to the social problems identified (the responsibility cannot lie solely with the central states);c) Strengthen European cooperation as a response to the social problems identified (instill the idea of GLOCAL).<< Objectives >>Based on the social problem identified and the needs raised, the aim of this project was to:(OG) Encourage youth participation, particularly in issues that directly affect young people and society in general.(SO1) Bring together European youth workers to identify, debate, co-create and test participatory and socially innovative solutions in the field of youth participation (which could be replicated, contributing to innovation in the sector);(SO2) Develop the key competences of young people (especially those with fewer opportunities) for entrepreneurship, ensuring that young people are able to develop and implement their own projects and actions that respond to the problems of youth and society;(SO3) Disseminate and explore the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda, so that young people can act in favour of building a more cohesive, just and sustainable society;(SO4) Contribute to the enhancement of the territory, identifying problems, debating answers and presenting solutions to favour the construction of each community and society in general;(SO5) Promote European values.<< Implementation >>VM-YW: through digital platforms, the TJs developed collaborative work (exchanged information, debated ideas, shared data, established points of situation, co-constructed materials as the output of the project).STATE-OF-THE-ART ANALYSISTJ identified and shared:-Good practices at European level regarding youth participation;-SDG needs assessment;-Structuring local actions with the possibility of global implementation;-Community empowerment.VM-Y: through digital platforms, the JWs developed their work with young people and were in constant cooperation, exchanging ideas and sharing information.SDG4YOUTH Workshops: after TWS 1, the intervention program was tested with the young people. In these sessions, the young people developed skills and learning that led them to be participatory in solving society's problems. The result was proposals for local intervention in line with the SDGs, where the solution to global problems involved empowering young people. These were local laboratories with a physical and virtual component.SDG4YOUTH Online Seminars: in addition to the workshops, there were international seminars with all the young people to explore the skills developed.<< Results >>a. TANGIBLE RESULTS - Output SDG4YOUTH: guide for youth participation in the SDGs;- Project booklet;- Content and materials developed throughout each phase of the project (e.g. planning documents: checklists, Action Plan, etc.; preparation documents: project value profile, Partnership Agreement, Infopack, etc.; follow-up documents: checklists, activity reports, evaluation reports, audiovisual resources, etc.).b. INTANGIBLE RESULTSIn particular, the 8 key competences defined in YOUTHPASS on Key Competences for Lifelong Learning. These competences were continuously developed by the participants through working together, in co-learning and co-creation: literacy; multilingualism; mathematical competence and competence in science, technology and engineering; digital; personal, social and learning to learn; citizenship; entrepreneurship and cultural awareness and expression.
