"<< Background >>Opposite to the European majority, the ""professionality"" of Roma musicians is limited, musical talents are only rarely promoted, women have only as an exception the opportunity to sing in public or to play instruments, and there is the risk that the music of the Roma gets lost. With ROMusicA, the project partners provide the pre-conditions to balance the described differences in the long run.<< Objectives >>The project partners from Germany, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Spain and Hungary aimed in the long run to keep Roma music for coming generations and to preserve it as a part of the European cultural heritage. For that, ROMusicA should create the pre-conditions.<< Implementation >>Project activities were:1. Situation and Need Analysis with involvement of Roma musicians and experts2. Workshops of Ideas with involvement of Roma, Roma women and Roma musicians 3. Designing of the concept for a follow-up project (ERASMUS+, KA2) with which the detected needs shall be covered.<< Results >>Apart from the comprehensive concept for the follow-up project, during the project a brochure for distributing information and a collection of more than 150 Roma songs for which no notation exists at the moment, were established."
