Mewery is a biotech deep-tech startup based in Brno, Czech Republic (est. 2021) leading the fortified (with enhanced nutritional value) Cultivated Meat (CM) sector. Our ambition is to be the first to bring cultivated pork to the market. Our vision is to create sustainable food production and, at the same time, to contribute to tackling global climate change by disrupting preconceived ideas about CM. Mewery is bringing a unique scalable method of growing pork cells to global markets. The method is the only one in the world to involve micro-algae in the entire meat cell growth process, creating a simpler, more stable and nutritionally richer product compared to other cultivated and traditionally farmed meat. The development efforts for our products have reached a significant milestones: we have successfully tested the production process in bioreactors, demonstrating the feasibility of our technology for large-scale applications, we have successfully created three prototypes of our end product, which are pork patties weighing 4, 25 and 100 grams. The market keeps changing, and in the coming years, the share of cultivated meat in the whole market will start to play a more significant role. It already started to show its presence in markets like Singapore in 2020, the USA in 2023 or Israel in 2024. Europe is expected to be the next region to demonstrate its attitude towards cultivated meat. We are creating a new market: a fortified cultivated meat market segment, which will be a part of the quickly growing (13% CAGR) cultivated meat market of today’s size of ~$221M (in 2022) and is predicted to grow to ~$593M by 2030 and even to $630B by 2040 as expected by some experts. The major barrier to securing capital to finish development and commercialise our innovation is the need to demonstrate scalable production and test the ease of production along the reasonable CAPEX and OPEX using our future pilot production line, resulting in the attractive price of cultured meat
