"Esto no es una mujer". El arte en las fronteras de género

Abstract

"Am I a 'real' woman?". Many generations of women have asked this question when our identity shocks with the cultural stereotypes established in each historical moment. In our attempt to answer this query, we have been asking to ourselves many others, which transcend gender status, and question severely the foundations of the prevailing system. The language used to express these doubts has not always been the word, artistic gesture has also been an effective vehicle for ideas. Therefore this conference aims a critical approach to the image of women in the "Art History" and active replication creative woman has given to it.
