Abstract

El Instituto de Recursos Naturales y Agrobiología de Sevilla (IRNAS; anteriormente Centro de Edafología y Biología Aplicada del Cuarto, CEBAC), como centro propio del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), desarrolla desde 1953 actividades científicas básicas y aplicadas que persiguen un objetivo fundamental,la optimización del uso y conservación de los recursos naturales suelo, agua y planta. Más concretamente, la actividad investigadora del IRNAS se centra en las siguientes líneas: 1) La sostenibilidad de la agricultura, su diversificación y mejora en la calidad de la producción, considerándose el suelo como principal referente de la investigación. 2) La precisión en el diagnóstico y la eficacia en el tratamiento de ciertos problemas ambientales, relacionados con el patrimonio natural e histórico, así como el estudio de los mecanismos y procesos responsables de su génesis y extensión.
