Abstract

Vectores recombinantes basados en el virus vaccinia modificado de Ankara (MVA) como vacunas contra la leishmaniasis. Los vectores de la invención contienen secuencias codificantes de la proteína LACK, preferentemente insertadas en el locus de hemaglutinina del virus y bajo el control de un promotor que permite su expresión a lo largo del ciclo de infección del virus. Son vectores seguros, estables, que dan lugar a una potente respuesta inmune que confiere protección frente a la leishmaniasis, por lo que son buenos candidatos para ser utilizados en vacunación frente a esta enfermedad, especialmente en seres humanos, así como en el reservorio animal más importante de esta antropozoonosis, los perros.
