Abstract

Esta obra titulada The Roots of Use-Wear Analysis: Selected Papers of S.A. Semenov, ha sido editada por Laura Longo y Natalia Skakun y publicada en: Memorie del Museo Civico di Storia Naturale di Verona (2.serie), Sezione Science dell'uomo nº7-2005 (ISBN 88-89230-05-3). Tras el listado de 49 trabajos publicados por S.A Semenov entre 1940 y 1975, esta obra recopila la traducción al inglés de 18 de estos artículos; se inicia con un trabajo colectivo, firmado por L. Longo, G. Korobkova, N. Skakun, H. Plisson y P. Anderson, en el que valoran el aporte de este investigador a la arqueología, tanto desde la escuela por él creada en la hoy San Petersburgo como desde "el mundo occidental" (Anderson et al.2005). Esta traducción supone un nuevo acercamiento a los planteamientos metodológicos que complementan la renombrada obra de Semenov (1957) traducida al inglés y castellano en 1964 y 1981 respectivamente.
