Abstract

Se describe la zona vitícola asturiana, situada en el Suroccidente del Principado de Asturias. En la primera parte del libro se recoge información sobre la historia de esta zona vitícola, sobre la historia de la ampelografía etc. En la segunda parte se describen, por primera vez, las variedades cultivadas en la zona. Se demuestra que algunas de ellas se cultivaban aquí desde tiempos inmemoriales, pudiéndo incluso ser consideradas como autóctonas. Otro pequeño grupo de ellas son variedades foráneas, llegadas a la zona a finales del siglo XIX, y que en algunos casos mantuvieron su nombre original, mientras que en otros adquirieron nombres locales diferentes.
