Abstract

Las especies del género Fasciola son causantes de la fasciolosis, parasitosis sanitaria y económicamente importante, que afecta a un gran número de especies animales, principalmente rumiantes. Además, el hombre puede también infectarse con el parásito, lo que confiere a esta patología una dimensión especial por su carácter zoonósico. Las especies de este género presentan diferente distribución, F.hepática se localiza, principalmente, en las zonas templadas mientras que F.gigantica se halla en las zonas tropicales, existiendo solapamiento de ambas en las zonas subtropicales...
