¡Las bacterias no son tan simples! Desde células individuales hasta organismos complejos

Abstract

Aunque pueda parecer que las bacterias son organismos muy simples con los mecanismos básicos para el desarrollo de la vida, realmente estos diminutos seres son enormemente complejos. Además, son los inventores de la gran mayoría de los procesos metabólicos que se encuentran en los organismos superiores. La complejidad es tal que algunos grupos bacterianos, como el de las cianobacterias multicelulares, presentan procesos de diferenciación celular y relaciones intercelulares al igual que los animales y las plantas.
