El presente informe recoge los resultados de los ensayos realizados por el Laboratorio de Certificación de la Estación de Ensayos de la Dirección Técnica de Evaluación de Variedades y Laboratorios del INIA-CSIC, único laboratorio acreditado por ISTA (International Seed Testing Association) en España. Anualmente se analizan más de 500 muestras de lotes de semillas de más de 60 especies vegetales y se ejecutan alrededor de 6.000 ensayos orientados a la certificación y control de calidad de semillas (como son: pureza específica, peso, viabilidad, germinación y vigor), que dan lugar a la emisión de alrededor de 500 certificados ISTA. Estos certificados constituyen una herramienta esencial para el comercio internacional de semillas, contribuyendo de manera significativa a la garantía de calidad y trazabilidad del material vegetal.
